I've been using Vigabatrin 500mg for a few months now to manage my complex partial seizures. Overall, it seems to be working well in reducing the frequency of my seizures. However, I've experienced some side effects that I'm trying to navigate. Has anyone else had similar issues? For example, I've noticed increased drowsiness and a few instances of temporary memory loss, which is really frustrating. I've also been battling frequent headaches. My doctor mentioned that these could be side effects, but I'm curious if others have found ways to manage them. I'm hesitant to stop taking the medication because it has significantly improved my seizure control, but the side effects are tough to deal with. I'd love to hear from others who have been on this medication and how they've handled the side effects. Also, if anyone has insights on how to talk to your doctor about adjusting doses or trying something new if the side effects are too severe, that would be really helpful. Thanks!

I've found that keeping a seizure diary and noting down any side effects has really helped me manage things. It makes it easier to talk to my doctor and adjust my treatment if needed. Just a tip that’s worked for me!

Anyone else experiencing weird vision problems? My doc told me it might be a side effect and to watch out for it.

The hardest part for me was the weight gain. I’ve always been pretty active, but suddenly I was gaining pounds that just wouldn’t budge. It’s been a struggle, but I’m hanging in there.

I had a really bad reaction to Vigabatrin. I got severe muscle pain and weakness, and it was so bad that I couldn't even walk for a few days. I had to stop taking it immediately. It's a tough drug and definitely not for everyone.

I’ve had some anxiety and restlessness, which is a bit scary. I’m trying to stay positive, but it’s tough. Anyone else dealing with this?

I always get nervous when starting new meds, especially with such a scary list of side effects. But for me, the benefits have definitely outweighed the negatives. It's all about finding that balance with your doc.

I feel so lucky to be on a medication that’s actually working. But the side effects are tough, no doubt about it. The dizziness was the worst for me at first. I had to be really careful about driving and stuff.
