I started taking Vigabatrin 500mg tablets a few months ago for complex partial seizures. The medication has significantly reduced my seizure frequency, but I've been experiencing some troubling side effects. I've noticed a lot of fatigue and drowsiness, which is manageable, but I'm also dealing with some memory problems and occasional disorientation. I've read about the potential for more serious side effects, like vision loss and depression, and it's got me really worried.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Vigabatrin? How did you cope with the side effects? Did your doctor adjust your dosage or switch you to a different medication? I'd love to hear from others who have been through this. Also, if anyone has insights into the risks of long-term use, I'd be grateful for the info.

I want to make sure I'm getting the most out of my treatment while minimizing the risks.

I've been taking Vigabatrin for a couple of years now, and it's been a rollercoaster. The side effects are tough, but the control over my seizures is worth it. Regular check-ups with my neurologist have been crucial. We've had to adjust my dosage a few times, but it's all about finding that balance. And yeah, I got some insurance coverage, maybe that helps too? I hear it’s expensive.

Vigabatrin saved my life, literally. I was having dozens of seizures a day before starting this medication. Now, I'm down to maybe one or two a month. The side effects are tough, but for me, they're worth it. Just make sure you're getting regular check-ups and monitor your vision closely. I've also found that staying active and eating well helps manage some of the fatigue and brain fog.

I've been on Vigabatrin for a few years now, and while it's helped control my seizures, the side effects have been a challenge. I've experienced some vision changes, which is scary, but regular eye check-ups have helped catch any issues early. My advice? Stay in close contact with your neurologist and don't hesitate to voice any concerns.

I just started Vigabatrin and I've been feeling pretty out of it. Dizziness and drowsiness are a killer.

I had a bad experience with Vigabatrin. I couldn't walk for days, I kept feeling confused, and my vision just got worse. The doctor said it’s kind of rare, but yeah, it can happen.

I have a friend who's on Vigabatrin and she says it's a miracle drug for her. But she also mentioned some strange side effects like burning sensations in her hands. Maybe she has something to do with her dose?

I switched to Vigabatrin from another drug, and it's been a game-changer. I went from having seizures every other day to maybe one every few months. The side effects are tough, but my doc and I are managing them. I’ve found that keeping a detailed log of my symptoms has helped us tweak the dosage just right. It’s a lot of trial and error, but it’s worth it to find that sweet spot.
