I've been prescribed Viokace 10 Tablets for treating my exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The medication has been helpful, but I've experienced some side effects I didn't anticipate. I know it must be taken with a PPI to protect it from stomach acid, but I'm curious if anyone else has had issues or managed to find good results. What's your experience? I'd really appreciate some advice from anyone who's been through similar issues. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts, as I want to make sure I'm taking the right steps and managing potential side effects.

I've been on Viokace for a couple of months and I've noticed constipation and some stomach pain.

Does anyone know if Viokace can cause sudden weight loss? I've noticed a few pounds dropping off in the last month, and I can't figure out if it's the meds or if it's something else.

I've been on Viokace for a while, and so far, I haven't had any major issues. Just the occasional upset stomach, but nothing that's kept me from my daily routine. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I never experienced severe side effects, but there are other enzymes that you can take too. I switched to Creon after having stomach issues and I've found them to be less harsh.

A word of advice - if you do experience side effects, keep a log of them. It'll make your visits to the doctor much more productive.

I have a friend diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and he's been doing well on Viokace. He also takes omeprazole for the PPI part and hasn't had any major issues. I think it really helps to follow the medication protocol closely and stay in touch with your doctor.

Be careful with PPIs. They can cause issues too. Make sure you're taking them as prescribed while on Viokace.

I had some really bad joint pain when I started Viokace. Turns out it was a rare side effect. It took a few weeks to figure it out, but the doctor switched me to a different enzyme replacement and the pain went away. Just be aware of the side effects and don’t wait too long to speak to your doctor if they get serious.
