Vitamin C is often hailed as a miracle nutrient, but are the 500mg tablets really necessary? This water-soluble vitamin is crucial for collagen production, immune function, and acting as a potent antioxidant. However, the body can only absorb a limited amount at a time, and excess is excreted through urine. While supplements can help meet daily requirements, especially for those with dietary restrictions, it's important to weigh the benefits against potential side effects and whether our bodies truly need an extra boost. What's your take on Vitamin C 500mg tablets? Do you swear by them, or do you think they're overhyped?

My doctor told me that smokers need more Vitamin C because it gets depleted faster. So maybe for some people, these tablets are a good idea.

I tried these for a while but switched to a chewable form. The tablets were just too big and hard to swallow!

I've heard that high doses of Vitamin C can cause kidney stones. Has anyone experienced this or know more about it?

I only recently heard that I can't just take all the Vitamin C I need. I am looking into this tablet and pure citrus juice for now, but thanks for all the advice.
