Vitamin D Drops for Babies: Essential Info and Experiences
Vitamin D 400u/ml Infant Liquid is a crucial supplement for babies, especially those who are breastfed. Breast milk alone doesn't provide enough Vitamin D, which is essential for bone health and overall development. This liquid form of Vitamin D helps babies absorb calcium and phosphorus, both of which are vital for strong bones and teeth. However, like any medication, it comes with potential side effects that parents should be aware of. This thread is for sharing experiences, tips, and any concerns about using Vitamin D drops for infants.

I think the key is to follow your pediatrician's advice closely and monitor for any unusual symptoms.
My baby had a weird rash after starting the drops. No other symptoms to point to the drops as the cause but I'm going to stop and bring it to the pediatrician's attention at our next appointment. Not worth the risk.
Did you mean the drops were the cause of fussiness? My baby has never shown any side effects.
Did your pediatrician recommend a specific brand or were you just given the formula to pick up at the store?
Fun fact: Vitamin D is technically a hormone, not a vitamin. It's produced by your body when your skin is exposed to sunlight.
Given the importance of Vitamin D for bone health, I don't think the risk of side effects is worth skipping this supplement. It's a no-brainer for breastfed babies, in my opinion. Just make sure you're storing it properly, as sunlight can degrade the vitamin.
Vitamin D drops are a must for breastfed babies. I’ve been giving them to my little one since she was a few weeks old. My pediatrician recommended them. It's important to remember that breast milk is low in Vitamin D, and it's a crucial supplement to prevent rickets. Remember folks, Vitamin D can be taken with or without food. Make sure you're administering the correct dose, and if you have concerns about the dosage or any side effects, talk to your healthcare provider.
