Warn Me If I Should Be Worried About Vancomycin 500mg Side Effects!
I've been prescribed Vancomycin 500mg for a hospital stay and I noticed all the scary side effects given that it's a powerful antibiotic. I've never had any serious reactions to medications before but I'd still like to know if anyone else has experienced any side effects or reactions, good or bad. It would be great to know if the risks are actually worth it or if there are any ways to minimize them.

Make sure your nurse is careful when administering it. I had some discomfort when it leaked from the vein.
How long are they keeping you for? Good luck. Just make sure you stay hydrated and let them know if anything doesn't feel right.
I had to be on Vancomycin for a while and I had no issues. I hope you get better soon!
I had a serious allergic reaction after the first dose. It's scary but I luckily recovered. Stay alert and be prepared for any reaction.
I found that the infusion site got pretty red and irritated if I didn’t talk to the nurse about the infusion rate. Definitely keep an eye on it.
I had to switch to another antibiotic because it caused kidney damage but maybe I'd just been unlucky with it. My sister had it and was fine...I think it depends on the person.
This drug saved me when I had MRSA. I did get some stomach upset, but nothing severe. Just take it easy and follow your doctor's advice.
I've had it a few times and just got the usual stuff like stomach pain. It’s not fun, but I felt better after finishing the course.
