Hello everyone, I'm currently undergoing treatment with Ampicillin-Sulbactam 1.5gm Inj, 1vl for a serious bacterial infection. I've noticed a few side effects and started doing some reading online, which has left me with a lot of concerns. The instructions don't mention any of the worst side effects, and I'm starting to worry if I've made the right choice. According to the FDA pamphlet, there are some severe and potentially life-threatening side effects, including allergic reactions, painful skin conditions, liver problems, and even fatal diarrhea. One of the scariest parts is that these side effects can happen so quickly and it sounds like they could lead to a hospital visit or worse. Doesn't anyone else have any thoughts or experiences with this antibiotic shot? I've got to get to the bottom of this because I'm scared.

I didn't really experience any of the worse ones, but I did have some bad stomach issues, so I'm keeping an eye on it

This is crazy to me. I got this medicine at the hospital and they didn't even think to warn me about any of this stuff. No chance I'm going to give it to anyone now. Better safe than sorry. My body has enough going on without having to worry about skin problems and who know what else! I'm just going to stop taking it right now. I don't want to mess with my health in any way. It's just not worth it! I think I'll be better off without it.

I've had some minor diarrhea but nothing too terrible. I don't know if it's the medicine or something else. I did read that if you get some pretty bad diarrhea and it doesn't go away, you need to tell your doctor because it can sometimes get really bad and you can even end up with serious stomach problems. That's in addition to any skin problems like Stevens Johnson Syndrome.

This isn't something to joke about. If you notice any severe side effects, get to a doctor ASAP. No questions asked.
