I took ciprofloxacin a few years ago for a sinus infection and had severe sunburn after just a short walk outside. I had no idea that it could cause such a reaction. I didn't even look at the package insert and I thought my skin was just extra sensitive. Be careful, folks. Always read the leaflet.
I had severe skin issues including red, swollen skin and sores in my mouth before I was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome. This is a very serious side effect and if you have it go to the ER right away. I can't even believe I was able to get out of that alive. I can't stress enough how important it is to report these symptoms to your doctor.
Wow, all these side effects sound scary. I have a prescription for ciprofloxacin and now I don't know if I should take it. Has anyone had a good experience with it?
