As a parent of a 3-year-old, I've been doing a lot of research on the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for toddlers. While I understand that this vaccine helps protect our children from severe illness, I've also seen some information on potential side effects. I'm wondering if any other parents have vaccinated their toddlers and can share their experiences. What specific side effects did their children experience? Were they severe or mild? How long did they last? If anyone has any insights or advice on managing potential side effects, I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

My toddler had a bit of pain at the injection site and was a little irritable for a few hours. I gave her some Tylenol and she was fine by the next day. Many parents I've talked to have had similar experiences. My daughter generally does not react strongly to vaccines, but a few friends told me that their kids had some other side effects like chills and vomiting, but all resolved quickly. Definitely makes you wonder the trade-offs and if there were any other options but I think it's safe, very rare severe reactions.

I think the main thing is to be prepared. Have some pain relievers on hand and know what to expect. If anything worse does happen, don't hesitate to go to the ER.

I'm still on the fence about this. The side effects listed are pretty scary. Are they really rare?

We had to skip vaccinations due to some rare allergies. Should I be concerned about any sign of a reaction?

If you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, like swelling of the mouth or face or any kind, contact medical immediately. That's what I did and we were fine. The worst part is the waiting when you can't contact your doctor immediately but COVID is terrible!

Feel free to DM me if you have more questions. I'm not a medical professional but I've done a lot of reading on this. The science is complicated but I think I can help explain the basics.

I had my 3-year-old vaccinated last week. She had a bit of a fever and was fussy for about a day, but it resolved quickly. Definitely worth it for the protection!

I worked in a daycare and we had about 10 kids vaccinated and none had severe issues. A few had some redness and a little irritability but all were back to normal within 24-36 hours. I don't know that I'd worry too much. None had the more severe symptoms mentioned, either. I understand it’s hard to take the leap but those side effects are rare.

The only thing that matters is that your kid is healthy. Sometimes you have to take the risk. We had a family friend who had to take their kid to the ER. It was scary but treatment works. The vaccine is designed to prevent that situation.
