I took it for a UTI and had some really strange side effects that weren't on the leaflet. I felt super tired and had headaches. It was weird, but I guess it's different for everyone.
You should be fine, but definitely watch out for any of those rare but serious side effects. If you get a rash or have trouble breathing, go to the ER immediately. It's better to be safe.
I took Doxycycline for acne and had no issues at all. Make sure to take it with food to avoid an upset stomach. The sun sensitivity was the worst part for me, so wear sunscreen.
I had a friend who took this and ended up with a yeast infection due to it. I guess it throws off the balance of bacteria in your body. Maybe it's worth asking your doctor about preventing that.
Doxycycline is a great antibiotic, but make sure you finish the whole prescription, even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause antibiotic resistance.
I went to the dentist and they told me to stop taking Doxycycline before getting a cleaning or filling because it can interfere with my healing process. So there's a good reason not to take it for a while.
One time I took Doxycycline and accidentally took it on an empty stomach. Yuck! Nausea and diarrhea were not fun. Take it with food, folks!
