I was prescribed Quelicin for an upcoming procedure where a breathing tube will be placed. I've done some research and it seems like it is used for muscle relaxation, but the side effects concern me. I am particularly worried about very rare but severe side effects like malignant hyperthermia. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What were the side effects like, if any? Were they manageable? I am trying to weigh the risks and benefits, but I would love to hear from people who have been through this before.

I work in healthcare and have seen patients experience a lot of the side effects listed. With such a severe and rare side effect list, make sure that any medical staff performing the procedure are well-trained and prepared to deal with anything.

Isn't it crazy that this drug can cause dangerous issues like high potassium levels? It’s something they mention in medical school but is rarely seen in practice. If you're at high risk for this, definitely talk to the anesthesiologist about it beforehand.

I had Quelicin during my emergency surgery last year. It was a lifesaver, but I did experience some muscle twitching and weakness afterwards. The doctor said it was normal and it went away after a few hours.

I've heard that Quilicin can be pretty scary if you have an allergic reaction to it. My friend had it and ended up with a lot of swelling and itching and had to seek emergency care. The experience was pretty traumatic for her. Make sure you're aware of the signs and ask your doctor what to do if you experience any of them.

What's the situation where you need Quelicin? I only had a close call with someone who had a bad reaction to it. I'm wondering how your doctors plan on mitigating the risks if you do react poorly. Do you have any family history of reactions to meds?

I had Quelicin and while it was scary to be told I was going to be paralyzed it was a very fast acting drug and the procedure went smoothly. Just make sure you have an experienced anesthesiologist, who probably have seen all of the side effects before, and make sure they know your medical history.

Is your procedure absolutely necessary? If not, and you’re wary of the side effects, maybe discuss with the doctor if there are alternatives to consider. My doctor only recommended this because it was the safest course of action for the procedure.

If anyone has had issues with this medication please let me know. I am trying to understand the risks before going in for my procedure. I've never had something like this before and the thought of losing muscle control is terrifying.

I had Quelicin during emergency surgery. My muscles twitched and were weak afterwards, but it was nothing to worry about. The doctor reassured me it was normal. It’s even easier to breathe now that the procedure is over.

I know it's scary, but it's important to remember that these side effects are rare. My mom had a procedure with this medication and she was fine! She had a little bit of twitching but nothing major. You'll be fine.
