Hello everyone, I've recently been prescribed Dextroamphetamine 7.5mg Tablets to manage my ADHD and narcolepsy. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects have you experienced? I've heard a lot about the serious side effects, but I'm also interested in hearing about the more common ones. Have any of you had issues with insomnia, or has anyone found strategies to mitigate it? Do you feel like the medication has significantly improved your quality of life? I'm particularly anxious about the potential for serotonin syndrome and heart-related issues. I wish there was more information online from real people. I'd like to know how you managed these risks. Also, has anyone had to switch to a different medication because of side effects? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've always struggled with the dry mouth side effect. I try to keep some water or chewing gum handy, and that helps a bit. The bigger issue was the lack of appetite. I kept feeling light-headed when standing up. My doctor had me try some different foods and vitamins, but some were worse than others. You just need a bit of time to figure out what works best.

I've had some issues with heart palpitations, but my doctor monitored me closely and adjusted the dosage. It's crucial to stay in touch with your healthcare provider and get regular check-ups. Keep pushing for regular blood tests and EKGs. The side effects are tough, really tough. But keep pushing. If it helps, or if doctors think it might help.

Why does it feel different in the morning and at night?

Be careful with this stuff. I had some really bad side effects, like severe muscle pain and shaking. I had to switch to a different medication. I wish I knew then how some people can have those reactions.

My doctor told me about the changes in skin color and that was a big concern. I had to visit the ER a few times because I had a really bad reaction, and I'm actually taking a different drug now. I feel like I'm in a substantial no-win sitation with stimulants. But I've heard there are other options, like methylphenidate.

I was a bit worried about the risk of serotonin syndrome. I've tried a few herbal supplements, and that's been a problem with them. I ended up getting tested and it was fine, but I've switched to a stimulant that doesn't affect serotonin as much.
