I was prescribed Prothelial 10% Mouth/Throat Paste for some severe canker sores and I'm wondering if anyone else has used this. The pharmacist said it forms a protective film, but I'm curious about how well it works in practice. Has anyone found it to be effective? What kind of results did you see, and how long did it take to see them? What are the pros and cons of using it? Do you guys have any tips or warnings for its usage?

I’ve used Prothelial a few times and it’s worked well for me. The protective film really does help shield the irritated areas, which speeds up healing. I usually feel relief within a day or two.

I had a bad reaction to it. Started getting hives and my throat felt like it was closing up. Scary stuff!

I'm allergic to pretty much everything, so I was nervous to try this, but it was fine. No bad reactions here!

I had a strange metallic taste in my mouth after applying it. Anyone else experience that?

Be careful with this stuff around kids. I gave some to my daughter for a canker sore, and she was having trouble swallowing a few hours later, ending with a trip to the ER. It was terrifying.

Mine was tolerable, but it took almost a week to see any results. I was hoping for quicker relief.
