Hello Everyone, I was recently prescribed Albumin Hum 5% Inj, 250ml. I know it's a protein solution given intravenously, but I want to understand more about its uses and potential side effects. Is it commonly used? What should I expect during treatment? The side effects list is quite long and intimidating, especially the urgent side effects. What are your experiences or insights about this medication?

I've been given Albumin for blood loss during surgery. It definitely helped stabilize my blood pressure, but I did experience some nausea. I made sure to report that to my doctor immediately

Make sure to report any side effects, even if you think it's nothing. Doctors know how to read into this stuff better. I report mine every time and my doctor notes them down

Have any of you experienced fluid and electrolyte problems? I heard a friend say they had dry mouth and strange urination patterns after taking this

Albumin Hum 5% Inj is like a lifesaver for patients with severe ascites due to liver disease. It helps reduce fluid buildup in the abdomen and improves quality of life.

The urgent side effects are rare but serious. Always have someone with you when you're getting this infusion, just in case you have a reaction. I remember a case from nursing school this was used in, the patient needed immediate help after infusion. Hospital staff was all hands on deck
