The flu season is around the corner, and many of us will be getting the Fluzone Quadrivalent 2023-24 vaccine. This inactivated (killed) vaccination protects against four different strains of the influenza virus. As with any vaccine, side effects are possible, both mild and severe. I've had the chance to read over the side effects, and while I understand that severe reactions are rare, I'm curious about what others have experienced. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who has already received the vaccine this season. Is there anything you wish you'd known ahead of time? How long did side effects last?

I wish I'd known that the side effects would be so similar to having the flu. I thought I was coming down with something after my shot. I mean, I was expecting something but I didn't know exactly what. I mean, I had no idea what to expect. I had no idea what to expect. Overall, I'm glad I got the shot. I wish I knew more about the side effects beforehand. I didn't know exactly what to expect.

I haven't gotten mine yet. I keep putting it off. I've never had a serious reaction to any vaccine, but I'm still not looking forward to the shot itself. I don't know if I'll have the same experience this year. I'm a bit scared to be honest but I'll get it done.

If you're worried about the vaccine, just remember it's better than getting the flu. I've had the flu once, and it was absolutely awful. The vaccine has mild side effects at worst and you're protected at best. Side effects are temporary while the flu can be pretty nasty. So far, I've had no issues but I never do. I don't think I'll have any issues this time. My arm is a bit sore where I got the shot, but that's pretty standard.

Does anyone know if the side effects are worse if you've never had the flu shot before? I've heard people say it is but I can't find any concrete evidence. What I've experienced so far is nothing new to me. I just get a little cold.

I'd like to hear from anyone who had a reaction besides the typical soreness and mild aches. I'd be interested to see if there's a pattern. I don't have any personal experiences but I am curious. It feels like I hear more complaints than compliments. Usually my arm is sore but nothing major. I've heard of people getting really sick but not my family. I wonder what the likelihood of it is.

I'm usually pretty nervous about vaccines but thankfully I'm fine. I did have a mild fever this morning, but I think it's more mental than physical. I'm glad I got mine out of the way.
