I've recently started my first round of chemotherapy with Fluorouracil 2.5gm/50ml Injection. The nurse went over the possible side effects, but I'm still a bit nervous. I've read that some side effects can be serious, like allergic reactions and nervous system problems. Has anyone had experience with similar symptoms? Are there any effective ways to manage these if they occur? I'm also curious about the administration site reactions and how long these might linger.

The mood changes were really tough. I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster. If you start feeling off, don’t hesitate to talk to your therapist or counselor. It's not just about the physical side effects.

Any tips on managing the nausea? I'm dreading that part.

Ugh, the hair loss was rough. I tried to be prepared, but it still hit me hard. It's just one of those things you can't really prepare for mentally.

I want to add that signs of infection can sneak up on you. If you start feeling feverish or get chills, it's not something to ignore. I ended up with a fever and a severe sore throat, which turned out to be a bad infection. Trust me, don't wait it out.

I'm lucky to have only experienced minor side effects so far. Diarrhea and upset stomach are annoying, but manageable. Just make sure you stay hydrated and talk to your doctor about any changes in your condition.

You're definitely not alone. I had a friend go through this, and she got the feeling super weak. The doctor told me it's normal, but it's still terrifying.

I had a similar experience with Fluorouracil. I knew it would be tough, but the side effects were tougher than I expected. The nurses helped me manage the nausea and vomiting. Did they give you any anti-nausea meds to help with that?
