I've just started using Memantine 2mg/ml Solution for my mom, who has severe Alzheimer's. I've read that it can help improve memory and thinking, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the more serious ones like allergic reactions. Has anyone else experienced these issues? How did you manage them? I'd love to hear from people who have been through this. Can anyone tell me more about what to expect in the first few weeks? What's the best way to monitor for side effects? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Memantine was a game-changer for my aunt. She started with the 2mg/ml solution and it really helped stabilize her symptoms. We noticed some minor constipation initially, but it cleared up with some dietary adjustments. Just make sure to stay in close contact with your healthcare provider.

I've heard mixed things about this drug. Some say it's a miracle, others say it's just a placebo. Anyone have any thoughts? I'd like to know what others have experienced.

Just curious, how long did it take for you to notice any improvements? My mom has been on it for a couple of weeks and I'm not seeing much change yet. I’ve stopped smoking in preparation for this since I'd heard it’s bad to mix the two. Is that bad? I was also surfing the internet for tips and tricks and replaced caffeine with gum.

I can't believe some of these side effects, feeling confused? Dizziness is understandable, but feeling confused? And diarrhea or constipation?! None of these things sound like a good time.

I started my dad on Memantine a few months ago, and while he did experience some dizziness at first, it seemed to subside after a few weeks. He's definitely seen some improvements in his memory and daily functioning. Just remember to give it time and consult your doctor if anything serious comes up! Also, keep an eye on any mood swings, I had to check with my doctor on that and it works best with a mood stabilizer.

I have heard people talk about feeling confused, but in a lot of cases this was due to them not following their medication schedule or mixing it with other drugs. Just be careful with it, but the benefits can be amazing.

I've been on Memantine for a while now, and honestly, the dizziness can be pretty scary. It's like walking on a boat! Just be careful when you're moving around, especially in the beginning.

Just wanted to say I’m glad you’re helping your mom out. It’s tough to see a loved one go through this, but it’s great to see how much you care. Just hang in there and keep an eye on that list of side effects!

My mom didn't have any serious side effects, but she did experience some headaches at first. We found that taking it with food helped a lot. Just make sure to let your doctor know about any issues, no matter how small they seem.

So, I’ve also been reading through some of the possible side effects and I’m just wondering if these things are only bad when you mix them with alcohol because the NIH's pages claim that mixing them can cause a lot of problems. I mean my grandma drinks a bit and it's been a while since she was on it and we never saw these sort of side effects on her but I'll have to get her to stop drinking now...
