Lapatinib 250mg Tablets are prescribed for certain types of breast cancer. They work by inhibiting specific proteins (EGFR and HER2) that help cancer cells grow. For example: it can cause severe skin reactions, abnormal heartbeat, and acute breathing problems. How have others managed these side effects? What tips do you have for someone new to this medication?

Stay on top of your labs and check-ins. My doctor monitored my liver enzymes and electrolytes regularly. They caught a problem early and adjusted my meds.

Has anyone had issues with breathing problems? My mom is on Lapatinib, and she's been having some shortness of breath. Should we be worried?

I had a severe skin reaction when I started Lapatinib. I ended up in the ER and it was terrifying. If you notice anything unusual, like blisters or severe redness, get to a doctor ASAP.
