I've been prescribed Follistim AQ to help with fertility treatments and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I know it's used to stimulate ovulation, but I'm not sure what side effects to expect or how to deal with them. Also, are there any tips for making the injection process less painful? I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with this medication. Are there any success stories out there?

Injection sites were my biggest concern too. I found that using a small amount of ice before injecting helped a lot. Just a little tip if anyone else is struggling. Good luck to everyone going through this process!

It's insane to think that this stuff is made in a lab. I mean, it's just crazy what science can do these days. But yes, the injections were a lot easier than I thought they would be. It's just a tiny needle and it doesn't really hurt.

Has anyone else been super emotional through this process? I'm a mess! It's not just the medication, it's the stress and everything else. I'm glad to know that it's normal and not just me. ;)

Be prepared for the emotional rollercoaster too. It's not just about the physical stuff. Talk to your doctor, family and friends if you need a support system. Good luck to you all. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I used Follistim AQ for my IVF cycle and it was a bit of a rollercoaster. The injections were manageable once I got the hang of them. Just make sure to rotate injection sites and use a numbing cream if needed like I did. It really helps! The side effects were mostly minor, just some bloating and fatigue, but I did have to watch out for OHSS symptoms which is scary. The best advice I can give is to stay in close contact with your doctor and report any unusual symptoms immediately. Oh, and the success stories are out there! My friend got pregnant on her first try with Follistim . Fingers crossed for you!

I would talk to your doctor about the OHSS symptoms. It's scary stuff and I hate that it's one of the risks. Just stay vigilant and hope for the best. You got this!

I used Follistim, actually. It's basically the same thing as Follistim AQ, just without the cartridge. The injections are a bit different, but the medication itself is the same. I didn't have any serious side effects, just some bloating and fatigue. But it worked for me and I got pregnant on the first cycle!

I felt really anxious about the side effects, but I didn't experience any serious ones. Just some mild headaches and upset stomach. I'm not sure if gaining a few pounds was because of the meds but it is possible.
