I'm currently undergoing IVF treatment and my doctor prescribed Ganirelix AC 250mcg/0.5ml. I’ve read about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones like severe allergic reactions and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). I'm a bit nervous about these injections, so I wanted to ask: Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? How did you handle the side effects, if you had any? Any tips or advice for someone new to this? Also, I'd love to hear from anyone who has dealt with OHSS—how did you manage it? Is the recovery period difficult?

Ganirelix was a game-changer for me. It worked perfectly to prevent premature ovulation, and I didn't have any serious side effects. Just a bit of irritation at the injection site, but nothing that Ibuprofen couldn’t handle. Most importantly, it worked and I got pregnant on the first try!

I felt the same way about the injections, but my nurse made it so much easier. She showed me how to do it myself and gave me some tricks to minimize discomfort. Plus, if you have a fear of needles, like me, it’s a good idea to get some numbing cream beforehand! I didn’t experience any side effects, but I heard those can be a bit more troubling.

I felt like I had to hide from the world with the bloating and stomach pain. Ganirelix is serious business. I'm glad I had my doctor helping me through it every step of the way.

My OBGYN said it’s unlikely — not impossible — to experience something severe, but I would keep an eye on the possible symptoms. Injection sites were fine, but I did feel tender as time went on.

I had a really rough time with Ganirelix. Ended up with a severe allergic reaction during my second injection. My throat felt tight and I broke out in hives. Went straight to the ER and they managed to stabilize me, but it was absolutely terrifying. I wish someone had warned me that it could get that bad.

Only used it for a short cycle. The nurse said to report any sudden symptoms immediately. I did experience some minor irritation, but nothing I couldn’t handle. However, I know many women who had more severe reactions, so it really varies.

I think it’s important to remember that everyone’s experience is different. While some people might have severe side effects, others might not have any at all. Yes, it's worth discussing with your doctor in detail before going forward.

I used Ganirelix during my IVF cycle and honestly, the injections were the scariest part for me. But my doctor walked me through it step by step, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I didn't experience any serious side effects, just some irritation at the injection site, which was manageable.

OHSS was a nightmare for me. I ended up in the hospital with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and significant weight gain. It was terrifying, but my doctors were great. I'd recommend staying in close contact with your medical team if you start feeling any of those symptoms.

I was so nervous about the injections too, but they were honestly bearable. I did have some stomach pain and bloating, though, which was a bit concerning, but I think it was just my body reacting to the medication. My doctor said it wasn't severe enough to be OHSS, but it was still scary.
