My mom has been prescribed the Ixempra 45mg Infusion Kit for her breast cancer treatment. The drug works by stopping cancer cells from growing and dividing, which helps to shrink tumors. However, I've heard about some serious side effects. Can anyone who has gone through this share their experience? Especially interested in vein irritation and how it was managed. Thanks in advance! #Prognosis #PossibleSideEffects #Treatments

I experienced crazy numbness and tingling during my treatment. It was weird but not as bad as the infections I got. I had to seek medical attention for those, and it delayed my treatment. Just be vigilant about any signs of infection.

I had to stop my treatment because of chest pains. Turns out it was a heart issue from the stress of chemo. It was scary but I’m okay now.

Ixempra is no joke, my friend went through it and she said it was brutal. But it also worked wonders on her tumors.

Did anyone else experience shortness of breath? I thought it was just anxiety at first, but it turned out to be a side effect. It was weird because it came and went in waves. My doctor said it’s not uncommon, but definitely something to keep an eye on.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Ixempra can be really hard on the body, but it's important to remember that everyone reacts differently. I'd recommend talking to the oncology team about premeds to help with side effects. Also, keep an eye on hydration and nutrition, as these can help combat fatigue and nausea.

Did anyone here experience abnormal sensations like burning or tingling? I'm wondering if it's worth it to push through the discomfort or if it’s a sign to speak to the doctor.

I had this infusion during my treatments. The infusion site got sore and red. My nurse told me to apply some ice to it and elevate my arm. It helped a lot. I just had to be careful not to overdo the ice pack.

My mom is on Ixempra too and it’s been a rollercoaster. We had to learn to balance the chemo days with rest days. It was a lot easier to manage once we had a set routine. It’s also really important to keep track of symptoms and report to the doctor. If anyone has any recommendations for natural remedies or additional treatments to ease side effects, please share!

Ixempra can be a tough pill to swallow, literally. Make sure to have some minty gum handy to combat the mouth sores and taste changes. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
