This thread is meant to discuss the most common and severe side effects, as well as provide insights into what to expect before, during, and after the injection. Do any of the more severe side effects like blood clots or circulatory issues persist long-term? Or are they immediate and temporary?

This stuff is no joke. I had a patient who went into anaphylactic shock right after the injection. We had to stop the procedure immediately and rush him to the ER. Make sure you have a full medical team on standby for emergencies. You never know when something might go wrong.

I work in radiology and have seen a few cases of severe allergic reactions. It's rare, but it can happen. Always have an EpiPen on standby and make sure the patient is monitored for at least 30 minutes after the injection. Better safe than sorry.

I've heard that thyroid problems can be a thing. Anyone else have experience with that? Or know more about it? I'm worried about long-term effects.

I'm a nurse who frequently deals with patients using Isovue. It's important to note that most people don't have significant side effects. If they do, it's usually mild. If someone experiences severe symptoms, swift medical intervention is essential. It's crucial to not panic the patient.

I had to get an Isovue scan last year, and the worst I had was a bit of warmth and a headache. Nothing too bad. Make sure you stay hydrated before and after the procedure. I've heard that can help reduce side effects. Best of luck!

This thread is so informative, thanks for sharing. I had no idea there were so many potential side effects. I’m getting an X-ray soon and definitely going to ask the doc about Isovue. Better to be safe and prepared!

I had a really bad reaction to Isovue. I woke up with a rash all over my body and it was so itchy. It took a few weeks to go away. I had no idea it could be so bad. I hope the next time I need to get a procedure without this serious side effects.
