I recently started taking Nitroglycerin 0.4mg Sub Tabs for angina. I've heard a lot about the side effects, and I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How often do you take them? Have you experienced any of the urgent side effects mentioned, or have you only dealt with minor ones? And if anyone remembers, how quickly did you feel the relief after taking them for the first time? Also, how does the medication interact with other similar medications? Does anyone have a preferred brand over others?

The urgent side effects are no joke. Make sure you know what to do if you experience any of them. I had a friend who didn't seek help soon enough and ended up in the hospital. As they say, better safe than sorry.

My doctor warned me about the flushing and the headache and I take them as a precaution for angina attacks. I do have to say, the flushing and headache which disappear quickly are better than the alternative

I've found that the sublingual tablets work better for me than the spray version. But I have tried a few brands and the generic ones seem to work just as well as the name brand ones.

I was surprised by how quickly they work. It's almost immediate relief from the chest pain. But definitely keep an eye on the side effects, they can sneak up on you.

I had a really bad experience with these. I started feeling super dizzy and faint, so I had to stop taking them. Talk to your doctor if you have any issues, though. Sometimes it's worth switching up the brand to see if it makes a difference.

Any tips on storing these? I've heard they can lose potency if not stored properly.

I've been on Nitroglycerin for a few years now. The key is to take them exactly as prescribed and always have them with you. They work fast, but the side effects can be a bit rough. I've had some dizziness and headaches, but nothing too severe. Stay hydrated, it might help with some of the side effects.

I've had some burning sensation in my mouth a few times, but it's not bad enough to stop taking them. The relief from chest pain is worth it, but I keep some water handy to rinse out my mouth after taking them. But the flushing thing is annoying

I use them only when I have angina symptoms. They work really quick. I feel the relief in like 2-3 minutes.

Do these interfere with other heart medications? I’m on a few already and I’m concerned about interactions.
