What's the deal with lidocaine? Has anyone experienced severe side effects?
I've been prescribed Lidocaine 2% Inj, 50ml for an upcoming procedure, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The list is quite long and includes some serious issues. Has anyone here had experience with this medication? I'm particularly concerned about the rare but potentially life-threatening side effects like methemoglobinemia and acidosis. How common are these really? Also, does anyone have tips for managing the more common side effects like fatigue and dizziness? Thanks in advance!

I thought I was going to die the first time i had a lidocaine shot in my teeth, but turns out I was just overreacting. The side effects were nothing.
I was so scared before my procedure, but it was a breeze. Just a bit of tingling but no big deal.
Be careful with it. I had a friend who had a severe allergic reaction. It was scary. Make sure to have someone with you just in case.
I've had it for a minor surgery and I felt a bit woozy afterwards but I was alright. Just take it easy afterwards. Relax and hydrate.
I work in a hospital and we use it all the time. Most people are fine, but yes the severe side effects are rare but can happen. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms and you should be fine.
