I've been prescribed Varenicline 0.5mg Tablets to help me quit smoking and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone here used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. I know it can help reduce cravings and make smoking less enjoyable, but I'm worried about the serious side effects like seizures or hallucinations. How common are these, and what was your experience like? Did you stick with it, or did you switch to something else? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Why did I take this? I got the shirt that says I quit smoking and I can’t eat anything because it doesn’t taste right, and I’m sleeping like crap, why? I’m not even sure why I even wanted to quit. My family hates it, my friends hate it, I hate it. But I took it.

I took it for about a month and my taste buds were so weird. I couldn't eat anything, it was like everything tasted like metal, but eventually it got better. I'll never forget the first taste of something after being on varenicline for a month. I was having pizza for my first trip to Italy and the way the pepperoni tasted I was like what? My sister and I were laughing so hard about it. Buon appetito!

I took Varenicline and it was a game-changer for me. I had some initial nausea and vivid dreams, but that eventually went away. The cravings were so much less intense, which made quitting mostly about dealing with habit, not addiction.

I was so worried about the side effects that I almost didn't start taking it. But my doctor talked me through it, and as long as you're aware, it's definitely manageable.

I saw a lot of reports of depression and mood swings. I was actually feeling pretty down and my family thought it was due to me quitting, but then I read about the side effects and talked to the Doc, who changed my meds. Definitely pay attention to your mental state if you start this.
