I've got a colonoscopy coming up and my doctor has recommended an MRI with Prohance contrast dye for better image quality. I'm feeling a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone here had an MRI with Prohance? How did it go? What should I be looking out for? I've read about allergies and kidney issues, so I'm particularly concerned about those. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I was scared at first, but my doctor assured me that reactions are rare. In my case, everything went smoothly. I didn't feel anything unusual during or after the MRI. Prohance is worth it if you need a clear MRI.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Prohance. I woke up in the ICU with a breathing tube. Definitely be aware of the risks and make sure the medical team is prepared. Prohance is not fun.

I've administered Prohance many times as a radiology technician. The key is good communication with the patient. Make sure they understand the risks and know how to report side effects. Educate well and you'll be fine.

No one likes contrast dyes, but they're essential for a lot of scans. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms and talk to your doctor if you have concerns. Better safe than sorry...

I had an MRI with Prohance last year and felt fine. It’s really just about being prepared. My doctor gave me a shot of Benadryl before the MRI, just in case. I didn't notice any side effects afterwards.

As a nurse I've seen a few reactions, but they're rare. Most people tolerate it well. Just make sure to tell your doctor about any allergies or kidney issues you have.

I've had two MRIs with Prohance and didn't experience any side effects. It's generally very safe, but your doctor should be right there in case of any bad reaction.

Seriously, why do they use this stuff? It's scary to think about. I had a co worker that had a severe reaction. They finally switched to a different dye after his reaction. Just be extra careful.

Y'all are making me nervous. What if it leaks out of your veins and travels through your body. It's weird! I had a friend with a kid who needed a kidney transplant because of it. It didn't happen to him but it could happen to you.

Honestly, I think the benefits of Prohance are worth the risks. It's so much more effective for seeing tumors and inflammation. I had it done after a sports injury to check for joint damage. It really helped my doctor see what was going on.
