Xalkori 20mg Capsules (pellets) is a targeted therapy designed to treat certain types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with specific genetic changes, such as ALK or ROS1 gene rearrangements. By inhibiting the signals that promote cancer cell growth, Xalkori can slow down or stop the progression of the disease, making it a crucial option for those with these specific genetic mutations. However, like any medication, Xalkori comes with a list of potential side effects, ranging from mild to severe. This thread is for those who have used or are currently using Xalkori. We'd love to hear about your experiences, good and bad. Do the benefits outweigh the risks? How has your quality of life been affected? What kind of support system do you rely on? If you're a medical professional, we'd also appreciate your insights into managing Xalkori's side effects and its overall efficacy in treating NSCLC.

Another thing I've noticed is that my taste buds have changed. Food I used to love now tastes weird. I hope this goes away eventually.

I'm just curious - how often do you have to take the meds? Is it daily, weekly, etc.? Also, do you have to go in for frequent checks? Thanks in advance!

I started taking Xalkori and I've had some weird nerve sensations in my legs and feet, made it difficult to walk at times. It's like pins and needles but more intense. Anyone know if this is common?

I had a really bad reaction to the first dose - severe rash and difficulty breathing. Had to go to the ER and spend a night in the hospital. It was terrifying.
