I was recently prescribed Xcopri (cenobamate) for my focal-onset seizures. I started with the 150-200mg Titration Pak 28s. It's been a bit of a journey, and I'd love to hear from others who have gone through the same thing. For those of you who have been on this medication, what kind of side effects did you experience, and how did you manage them? I've had some dizziness but nothing severe. Did anyone else have issues with drowsiness or fatigue? I'd appreciate any tips or advice on how to navigate this new medication. Also, what are some ways to help support a family member who is on Xcopri?

I've been on Xcopri for about a year now. I can't believe how much it's helped! I experienced some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks of the titration. I felt like I had to keep my doctor constantly updated. My biggest advice is to be honest with your doctor about any side effects you experience. If you're struggling with drowsiness or fatigue, try adjusting your dosage or taking it at a different time of day. Also, don't forget about the potential serious side effects. Be vigilant and get medical help ASAP if you notice anything alarming. It's better to be safe.

I’ve seen a lot of people talk about mood changes and thought it was worth mentioning. If you notice any new or worsening symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, or irritability, it's important to contact your doctor immediately. It’s rare, but it can happen.

The side effects can definitely be overwhelming at first. I had some pretty intense dizziness and fatigue, especially during the titration phase. But after a few weeks, things started to settle down. One thing that really helped me was to break my dosage into smaller increments and take it with food. It also helped to get enough sleep and drink lots of water. I also found that exercise made a huge difference in managing fatigue. Of course, always consult your doctor before making any changes. And yes, it's always important to keep an eye out for any of the urgent side effects, like shortness of breath or sudden weight gain. Support is key, so make sure to lean on family and friends. My family was able to help me through the adjustment period.

I had a rough start with Xcopri too, but the benefits outweighed the side effects. I experienced a lot of dizziness and some weight gain. I ended up switching up my diet and exercise routine, and it helped immensely. Staying hydrated and avoiding a lot of heavy meals seem to help me with the dizziness. Just be careful with the weight gain—it’s a real concern for some people. I wish I would have known that it was mostly just water weight, and not permanent gain.

I've got some tips to manage fatigue. If you're feeling really tired, try breaking your day into smaller chunks of activity. Make sure you rest plenty, but don't go to bed too early. It can mess with your sleep cycle. And if the dizziness is getting to you, try doing some gentle exercises and breathing techniques.
