I recently started taking Xeljanz XR 22mg Tablets for ulcerative colitis. It's so much easier taking just one pill a day, but I've heard about some pretty serious side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear both the good and the bad. Also, how do you deal with the side effects? Do you have to stop taking it if they get serious? My doctor said the once a day dosage is a big plus but...I'm scared.

I think it's crucial to remember that side effects can vary greatly from person to person. What works for one might not work for another. It's all about finding the right balance and staying in close contact with your healthcare provider. Seriously, look at the list of side effects they mention and bookmark the FDA link. If you start showing any signs of an infection, seek immediate medical help. My friend went through a lot because they didn't take the infection signs seriously.

I switched to Xeljanz after my insurance stopped covering my previous medication. It's been a mixed bag. On one hand, my symptoms are much better controlled. On the other hand, I've had some troubling side effects like infections and night sweats. I take it because its easier than going back to the 10 pills a day. But the side effects definitely make me think about trying something else.

I've been on various medications for my ulcerative colitis, and Xeljanz has been the most effective so far. The once-a-day dose is a big plus, and I haven't experienced any severe side effects. Just some mild diarrhea and a headache once or twice. But I agree with the others. Stay in close contact with your healthcare provider so that you can get immediate treatment if you start having complications.

My doctor warned me about the liver problems. She said they'd monitor my liver function while I'm on Xeljanz.
