I was recently prescribed Xenazine 25mg tablets to manage the chorea associated with Huntington's disease. From what I've read the medications can be very effective in controlling the jerky movements, but I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones like neuroleptic malignant syndrome and abnormal heartbeat. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both positive and negative. How has it affected your daily life? Are the side effects manageable? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've had some weird changes in my balance, so just be aware of that. It's a bit scary, but I'm managing.

My mom was on Xenazine for a while, and it helped with her movements, but the nausea was awful. Make sure to take it with food!

I wish more people talked about the positive impacts. My movements have improved a lot, and I can go for a walk without feeling like I’m going to topple over

Anyone else feel like they’re just super tired all the time? It’s like my body just wants to sleep.

It's also used for tardive dyskinesia, which is what I have. It’s been a life-changer, but the side effects are challenging. I'm a bit worried about the possible life-threatening ones, but my doctor is closely monitoring me.

Be careful with this med. I had some really bad dizziness and trouble swallowing. Had to stop taking it.

I've been on it for a year and have noticed some anxiety and trouble sleeping. It's been manageable so far, but I'm keeping an eye out for any serious side effects.
