I've been struggling with cold sores for years, and I finally decided to give Xerese 5-1% Cream 5gm a try. I've used plenty of other treatments over the years, so I was hopeful that this new combo of acyclovir and hydrocortisone would finally put an end to my discomfort, but at the same time, I was also a little skeptical because of its high price tag. I applied it exactly as directed, and it definitely helped with the pain and itching, but I did experience some irritation at the application site. Have any of you guys tried this as well? Do you think it’s worth the price? What other treatments have worked for you in the past. Also, I’d love to hear what you think about its side effects—was it an allergic reaction, or just irritation? If you want to know more about it, do some research or ask your doctor! Also, I’m wondering if any of you have had any unexpected side effects or if you’ve had difficulty finding the cream in local stores. Anyway, it’s been a few weeks since I started using it, and I’m still not sure whether it’s a miracle cure or just overhyped. What do the rest of you think?

I've been using acyclovir and hydrocortisone separately for years, and I don't see the point of this combo. I think it's just a way for drug companies to make more money.

I think Xerese is great for preventing cold sores from forming, but it doesn't do much once they've already started. I wish I had known that before I bought it.

I read up on the ingredients in Xerese. The acyclovir fights the virus, and the hydrocortisone reduces inflammation. It makes sense that it would help cold sores heal faster. But, it did cause some irritation at the site where the medication is applied which got a bit annoying.

I experienced a bit of stinging when I first applied it, but it went away quickly. I think it's because of the hydrocortisone and it was well worth it. Plus, the combination of antiviral and steroid seemed to knock out the cold sore in record time.

I had no idea that Xerese could have such serious side effects. I'm definitely going to steer clear of this one. Has anyone reported any side effects to the FDA? I think their website has a reporting system.

I've used Xerese before, and I think it's worth the hype but not the price. It helped my cold sores heal faster, but I went back to a different topical because it was quiet expensive.

Be careful, guys. I had an allergic reaction to Xerese. I broke out in hives and had to go to the ER. It sucked, but at least I know better than to use it again.

I could not get this cream to work for me at all. I might switch over to a different antiviral cream or even try a different form of acyclovir like a pill, but this wasn't for me.
