I had to have a spinal injection for a surgery last year. The doctor warned me about potential side effects like loss of bladder control and erectile dysfunction. Thankfully, I didn't experience any of them.

I've heard there are more side effects with spinal injections. Anybody have any experience with that?

Make sure to inform your doctor if you have any underlying conditions. Xylocaine-Mpf can interact with certain medications and health issues. Trust me, you don't want to find out the hard way.

Seizures and the feeling of breathlessness may happen. People with these symptoms must get to a doctor right away. As a nurse, I've seen a few cases where immediate medical help made all the difference.

Why do some people experience methemoglobinemia? Any idea what causes this and if it's avoidable?

Be careful with Xylocaine-Mpf. My mom had a severe reaction with blue discoloration around her lips. Turned out it was methemoglobinemia. Thankfully, the doctor recognized it quickly and managed it.

Xylocaine-Mpf is generally safe, but the side effects can be scary. Always have someone with you after the procedure in case you experience any severe symptoms. Better safe than sorry.

I got it when I had my wisdom teeth removed. The numbing effect was perfect, but I felt a bit dizzy afterward. Spent the rest of the day resting and it went away.
