I recently started taking Methenamine Mandelate 1000mg Tabs to prevent urinary tract infections. The medication works by releasing formaldehyde in the urine to kill bacteria, but it requires your urine to be acidic for it to work properly. I've read about some serious side effects and also some common ones like upset stomach. I'm curious if anyone else has taken this medication, and if so, what was your experience like?
