A life-changing new hemophilia A treatment: Hemlibra. My experience switching from other treatments
I have been diagnosed with hemophilia A for as long as I can remember, and in the past, I have had to deal with bleeds that resulted in a lot of pain and difficulty. However, the medication Hemlibra has finally given me a good quality of life. It is administered by injection under the skin, and it works by helping prevent bleeding and promote proper blood clotting, even if you have inhibitors to other hemophilia treatments. It has been such a relief to finally have a treatment that allows me to just go along with my day to day life, with minimal interruptions.

I had to take a break from Hemlibra because of joint pain, but I’ve heard others have had a better experience. It’s a bit of a bummer because it worked so well for me otherwise. Maybe I’ll try it again at some point if my situation changes.
I've been on Hemlibra for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer. No more frequent visits to the hospital for bleeds. It's definitely worth talking to your doctor about if you're struggling with other treatments.
I haven’t experienced any serious side effects, but I did notice some irritation at the injection site. Just make sure to rotate injection sites and keep them clean!
I switched to Hemlibra after developing inhibitors to factor VIII. It's been a huge relief not having to worry about spontaneous bleeds all the time. The injection is a bit of a hassle, but it's totally worth it for the peace of mind.
Just a reminder to always report any side effects to your doctor. They need this information to keep everyone safe.
I'm thinking about switching to Hemlibra but I'm worried about the cost. Does anyone know if insurance covers it well?
