I've recently been prescribed Acetazolamide 125mg Tablets for altitude sickness, but I'm wary of the potential side effects, especially since it's been recommended to treat my glaucoma and seizures as well. I am wondering if anyone else has used it and noticed any negative effects, or had any tips for managing the side-effects that I could expect from it. I don't want to be in a panic if I feel sick, but I also don't want to ignore anything serious. I've heard it's good for edema and altitude sickness so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about that. My doc said it may help with my glaucoma and seizures as well, so I'm curious if anyone has experienced relief from those.

I wish I had read your thread before starting this medication. I had to deal with a lot of pain in the eyes, ringing in the ears, and nausea. Not fun at all. I was able to find some relief by switching to a different treatment regimen, but it was a long road. I had visions of swollen urethra and blood in the urine. Yikes. Be safe.

I was prescribed acetazolamide for edema. I didn't experience any of the urgent side effects, but I did have some fatigue and muscle weakness. Exercise helped with the fatigue, strangely.

Acetazolamide is great for altitude sickness, but the side effects can be rough. I had diarrhea and nausea, and my taste changed for a bit. It went back to normal after I was done with the tablets, though. Hang in there!

It really helped with my altitude sickness but my urine changed colors. It was a bit scary, but my doctor explained that it was normal. I also got some headache, dizziness, and blurriness to be careful of.
