I was prescribed Actiq 600mcg Transmucosal for breakthrough cancer pain, and wow, it's intense. This stuff works incredibly fast, but the side effects are no joke. I've had some serious dizziness and constipation, and I'm always paranoid about my breathing. I've had to be super careful with how much I use and when. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm curious to know how others manage these side effects. I've heard horror stories about serotonin syndrome, and I'm terrified of that happening. I've been in contact with my doctor, but I am still worried. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it's always better to be safe, right?

I switched to a different medication because of the breathing issues. It was too scary for me. I totally get the fear of serotonin syndrome. I'd rather deal with lesser pain relief than risk my life. What does everyone else think about this?

I've been on Actiq for a while now, and I can relate to the dizziness. It's brutal, but the pain relief is worth it. Just be careful and always keep your doctor in the loop, it's crucial to be monitored. I've had to adjust my dosage a few times, and it's made a big difference.

I've been using it for a few months and have only had some minor dizziness, though I worry about the long-term effects. It's tough to balance the pain relief with the risk of side effects. Just remember, everyone's experience is different, and what works for one person might not work for another.

My mom was on Actiq, and the constipation was the worst. She had to take stool softeners and other meds just to manage it. It's not just about the pain relief; you need to think about how it affects your body overall. It's a balancing act.

I've had some minor side effects, but nothing too bad. The key is to communicate openly with your healthcare provider. They can adjust your dosage or suggest other pain management techniques to help you through this.

I've been on Actiq for a while, and the side effects are terrible, but the pain relief is worth it. It's a tough call, and it's important to be aware of all the risks. Just remember, everyone's journey is different, and what works for one person might not work for another.

I've had some pretty bad nausea and vomiting. It's horrible. I've had to talk to my doctor a few times about it. He suggested taking it on an empty stomach, and that's helped a bit. Hopefully, it won't get worse over time. I feel like I'm pretty lucky to not have gotten any of the severe symptoms.

I had no idea Actiq could cause such severe side effects. I'm glad I found this thread. My friend was prescribed it and is always complaining about the dizziness. Now I know it's not just her, but I feel like he needs to talk to his doctor.
