Adenosine is commonly used to treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), a condition where the heart beats too fast. Given intravenously, it quickly slows down the electrical signals in the heart, allowing it to reset to a normal rhythm. The side effects can be brief and uncomfortable, such as chest pressure, shortness of breath, or flushing. However, it's crucial to be aware of more severe side effects that require immediate medical attention. Has anyone had personal experiences with Adenosine 3mg/ml Inj, 30ml? What were your side effects like, and how did you manage them?

I had a mild headache and some flushing but that was about it. The doctor told me that the side effects can vary a lot depending on your body chemistry. I feel lucky I had such a light reaction.

I had a bad reaction the first time. My face swelled up and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I had to have an EpiPen shot. The doctor said it was rare but possible. I had to get a different drug the next time.

The side effects I remember the most are the chest pressure and flushing. They were uncomfortable but only lasted a short while. I felt a bit dizzy afterward, but it subsided quickly. I'd advise anyone getting this to be prepared for the temporary discomfort.

I think it's scary how fast everything happens. It's like one second you're feeling fine, and the next you're having serious symptoms. It was a bit overwhelming for me, and I've had to go through a lot of mental preparation to just remind me that these symptoms are short-lived. However, lucky for me I wasn't having any of the rare severe side effects.

Just a reminder to everyone: if you experience severe symptoms like trouble breathing, chest pain, or sudden changes in vision, get to the ER immediately. These can be signs of a bad reaction to Adenosine.

I've had Adenosine administered a couple of times. The first time was pretty rough—the flushing and chest pressure were intense, but it only lasted a few seconds, which is a relief. I had a few headaches afterwards, but nothing I couldn't manage with some over-the-counter pain relievers.

The drips they give you afterwards to flush the Adenosine out of your system really do help with the burning sensation. If you get it, make sure to ask about that.
