Any Advate 1500unit Inj, 1 Vial users here? need advice, please!
I've just been prescribed Advate 1500unit Inj, 1 Vial for hemophilia A and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I've read the pamphlet about the possible side effects and I have to admit, I'm feeling kind of anxious, especially about the serious side effects. Understandably, I'm scared of the signs of allergic reactions and the other serious side effects, but also confused: should any/all of them happen, how do I handle them? Some of them seem urgent, but others like feeling cold or chest pain… more like a 'go to the hospital' or 'call an ambulance' moment. Can anyone share their experience with this medication? What kind of side effects have you experienced, if any? How did you manage them? I'd really appreciate any advice or tips on dealing with Advate. Thanks, everyone!

I had a really bad experience with Advate. I started feeling extremely tired and weak all the time. I couldn't even get out of bed some days. It was horrible. But I think it was because I was overdoing it. Learn from my mistake: listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard. It's not worth it.
Advate has some crazy side effects on here. Like feeling cold or blue mouth. I've never heard of that before. Do those even happen in reality??
I've had some joint pain and swelling, but nothing too bad. I just take some over-the-counter pain relievers and it goes away. I'd rather deal with that than the alternative. But I do have to say, the common cold side effects are rough. I've been feeling like I'm always on the verge of getting sick, though it may just be a coincidence. Anyone else experience that?
I've been on Advate for a few years now and I've only had minor side effects like irritation at the injection site and occasional headaches. Nothing too serious.
You know what? I'm glad this thread even exists. I've been using Advate for a while and I didn't know about all these side effects. I guess I just assumed they were normal because I didn't feel great anyway. Guess I should stop that and call my doctor. Thank you all for sharing.
Advate has been a lifesaver for my son. He had a couple of allergic reactions at first, like rash and hives, but his doctor adjusted the dosage and he's been fine since. Just be vigilant and keep your doctor in the loop. Try not to panic, but if you feel shaky, dizzy, or have any of the symptoms listed, don't hesitate to call the doctor. It's always better to be safe.
I think the worst part about Advate is the cost. It's insanely expensive and my insurance barely covers it. But it's worth it for the peace of mind. Having to deal with the cost is a pain, but it is what it is.
