I've recently been prescribed Diltiazem CD 300mg Capsules (24 Hr) to manage my high blood pressure and occasional angina. It's supposed to help relax my blood vessels and slow down my heart rate, which sounds great in theory. I'm just not sure what to expect in terms of side effects. The urgent ones listed on the medication leaflet are kind of scary, like allergic reactions, liver issues, and severe skin reactions. I've also read that some people experience headaches and dizziness, which I could really do without. I just started taking it, and I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this medication. How has your experience been? Any unexpected side effects? Do the benefits outway the negatives? I’d love to hear anyone’s take on this.

I've just started taking Diltiazem but it’s not as bad as I thought. The doctor told me that the common side effects like dizziness and headaches can be managed with adjustments to your daily routine. But honestly, I’d rather deal with that than angina. Blood pressure and heart rate are both fine now. I would definitely recommend this to others in the same situation.

Diltiazem saved my life. After a bad scare with angina, my doctor put me on this and it's been a lifesaver. No side effects for me, just a steady heart rate and normal blood pressure. I was taking a 12 hour one initially, but switched to the 24 hour version and it suits me better.

I had to stop taking Diltiazem because it gave me really bad skin reactions. It started with a rash and then turned into something much worse. I ended up in the hospital with something called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It was scary stuff. I wish I had known about that side effect beforehand. If you get any skin irritation, go to the doctor immediately, but be prepared for a possible hospital stay.

I've been on Diltiazem for a year now and no issues. Just taking it at the same time every day and it’s fine.

I've been on Diltiazem for about 6 months now, and while it has helped with my blood pressure, I did experience some pretty bad headaches at first. My doctor said it was a common side effect and told me to take over-the-counter pain medication for it. It seems to have resolved itself now. Just be patient and give your body some time to adjust. You might be one of the lucky ones who has no side effects at all.
