I've been prescribed Olmesartan/amlod/hctz 40-5-12.5mg T for my high blood pressure, and I'm curious to hear from others who are taking it. This medication is a combination of olmesartan, amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide. It's supposed to help lower blood pressure by relaxing and widening blood vessels, as well as helping the body get rid of extra salt and water. I've heard about some potential side effects, like dizziness, headaches, and even more serious issues like kidney problems or skin cancer. I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced these or has any tips for managing them. Also, how long did it take for the medication to start working for you? Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I had severe light sensitivity and my vision problems have been terrible (and there's apparently no fix for them). This is a huge risk, and it's not getting enough attention. I had no idea it was a thing before I started taking this!

Just started this, and I'm feeling super dizzy. Is this normal? What should I do?

I found that taking this medication with food really helped with the stomach upset. I even tried taking it with a full meal, not just a snack. It's not a pill you want to not take, so it's worth it. I also found that drinking plenty of water throughout the day helped with the dizziness. Staying hydrated is key. Another tip for the dizzy feeling: stand up slowly when you get out of bed, or try laying down if it feels like you've just been sitting. Immediate muscle spasms are no fun either.

Be careful with this one, folks. I had some really bad joint pain and swelling, and it got to the point where I could barely move. Definitely talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits. This sounds like it would happen a lot, but I hadn't heard much about it from others. I'm switching back to my old meds.

I tried this medication, but I had to switch because of the skin cancer risk. I already have a family history of skin cancer and didn't want to take any more chances. I had to go back to my old prescription. Skipping the sunblock is a very bad idea when on this medicine

I read the part about kidney problems and it freaked me out. Anyone else feel the same way? It's hard to know if what you're feeling is normal or not.

Omg I'm literally terrified of skin cancer so how am I going to know if this means I have it?

I've been on this med for a few months now and it's been a lifesaver. My blood pressure has gone down significantly, but I did experience some dizziness at first. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take it with food to minimize stomach issues.

I've been on this for a year and haven't had any major issues. I did have some headaches at first, but they went away after a few weeks. I used to get a lot of headaches, so this is much better. It's been a game-changer for my blood pressure.
