I've been using Generlac for a few months now to manage constipation, and while it does help, I've been experiencing some pretty unpleasant side effects, including gas and upset stomach. I've also had a few bouts of diarrhea, which is not mentioned in the side effects. I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are better alternatives out there. How has Generlac worked for you in treating hepatic encephalopathy? Have you ever noticed any signs of high blood sugar or allergic reactions while using this medication, or perhaps any other side effects not listed in the possible side effects section? And what about reporting them? Does the FDA really care?

I switched to a different medication because the gas and upset stomach were unbearable. I'm curious about your experience with diarrhea—the most serious symptom of all. It sounds like you're dealing with a lot more than most people. Have you consulted your doctor about it? Ultimately, I'm still glad to have tried this medication in the first place

If you're experiencing severe side effects, it's definitely worth talking to your doctor about other options. I switched to a different medication because the gas and upset stomach were unbearable. I've also had a few bouts of diarrhea, which is not mentioned in the side effects. I think it would be interesting to have a discussion about the medication. It's a great way for everyone to share their experiences and find out what works best for them.

I've been on Generlac for a while and haven't had any major issues. Just the occasional burping and cramps, but nothing too bad. It's been a lifesaver for my constipation problems, and I'm glad I haven't had any symptoms of high blood sugar or allergic reactions. I will keep this post in mind if anything changes.

I've had a few friends who've had similar problems. I couldn't believe that Generlac was recommended to them for hepatic encephalopathy. I was told it could lead to fruit-smelling breath and all sorts of other nonsense.

This is a great thread. It's important to share experiences and discuss the side effects of medications. I've had a few friends who've had similar problems. It's definitely not fun to report side effects to the FDA, but it's important to share that information.
