I've been taking Lamotrigine ER 200mg Tablets for a few months now, and I've started to notice some really unpleasant side effects. I've been experiencing dizziness, drowsiness, and some pretty severe stomach pains. These are side effects listed, but they're not going away and they are impacting my daily life. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? I've heard that some people have it worse with this medication. I'm considering talking to my doctor about switching to a different medication, but I wanted to hear from others who might have gone through something similar.

My experience was totally different. I didn't have any side effects at all. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this medication.

I started out with the same dosage and had a really bad allergic reaction. Swelling, hives, the works. It was terrifying. I switched to the 100mg and it's been much better, but I still get some dizziness.

Seriously, if you're having shortness of breath or any major issues go to the ER. I ignored it and it turned out to be a kidney issue. No more Lamotrigine for me!

I had some joint pain and swelling at first, but it went away after a few weeks. I also took some over-the-counter pain relievers to help manage it.

I had some really bad stomach issues at first, but they went away after a few weeks. Might just take some time for your body to adjust.

Oh man, I felt like I was going through hell with the side effects. I switched to a different medication after a few months and it was a game changer.

Have you tried taking it with food? That helped me with the stomach issues a lot. Also, split your pills; half in the morning, half in the evening. Maybe that will help?

I've been on Lamotrigine ER for a while and had similar issues with dizziness and stomach pain. My doctor adjusted the dosage slightly and it helped a lot. Might be worth talking to your doc about that.

I can relate to the dizziness. I felt like I was living in a fog for the first few days. But after a week or so, it went away. Maybe give it a bit more time?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Try drinking plenty of water and getting a good amount of sleep. Both can help with a lot of these side effects. Stay strong!
