I've just started taking Ribavirin 200mg Capsules as part of my hepatitis C treatment regimen. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what side effects they experienced. The medical literature can be a bit overwhelming, so I'd love to hear some real-life accounts. Specifically, I'm curious about how people managed the more serious side effects like anemia or mood changes. Additionally, I'd appreciate any tips on dealing with the more common side effects like flu-like symptoms or fatigue. How long did these symptoms last, and did you find any remedies that worked well? Thanks in advance!

Be prepared for the change in taste too! Everything tasted metallic for me.

Side note, but anyone else have weird dreams while on this stuff? I had some pretty crazy ones.

Ribavirin is hard, no doubt. But it's a small price to pay for being HCV-free. Just make sure to stay in close contact with your doctor and report any side effects right away. Good luck!

The side effects were brutal, but I had to remind myself that it was temporary. I kept a journal to track my symptoms and how they changed over time. It helped me see the progress and stay motivated. And seriously, the hair loss was bad but it was all worth it in the end.

This thread is a goldmine of info, thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear that most of you got through it okay. I think I'll start a symptom tracker too, like you mentioned. Good call!

I had to stop taking it because the side effects were too much. My doctor switched me to a different treatment. But for those who can handle it, stick with it. You got this!

I found that taking Ribavirin with food helped with the stomach issues. Also, staying hydrated was key. I carried a water bottle everywhere! Plus, my doctor recommended a low-dose vitamin B supplement to help with the anemia. It definitely helped.

I was on Ribavirin for about six months. The flu-like symptoms were rough at first, but they eventually subsided. I found that taking it at night helped me sleep through the worst of it.
