Anyone have experience with Smoflipid 50gm/250ml Emul Inj 250ml? Good or bad?
I was recently prescribed Smoflipid 50gm/250ml Emul Inj 250ml and my docs have explained it's an intravenous (IV) fat emulsion to provide essential fats and calories. I am trying to find more about it from your experiences. Does anyone have experience with it? How was your experience? Did you have side effects? What are the precautions to take? I had a bad experience with Smoflipid. I developed a rash and had trouble breathing. I didn't know if it was a reaction to the drug until i felt much better after stopping it. Always have an epipen ready.
Don't mess around with it if you have a history of pancreatitis or liver issues. It can be a game-changer but if you have conditions in the past then it may come back..
I'm a nurse and have seen patients on Smoflipid. It's crucial to watch for signs of infection at the injection site. If you notice any redness, swelling, or oozing, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Feeling weak and tired are the worst. I hope you feel better and have a safe journey.
Make sure to stay hydrated and take it easy while on Smoflipid. It can affect your blood sugar levels, so keep an eye on that. Don't ignore headaches or feeling too tired.
