Anyone have experience with Zithromax 500mg injections for severe bacterial infections? Share your story!
I was recently prescribed Zithromax 500mg Sdv Inj, 1 Vial for a severe case of pneumonia. I've never had an IV antibiotic before and I'm a bit nervous. The potential side effects are concerning, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions and liver problems. Has anyone else gone through this? I want to know what to expect. Also, what should I do if I start feeling some of the side effects? My doctor said to call, but you all know first-hand experiences are invaluable.

Remember, everyone's body reacts differently. I had no issues with Zithromax but a friend of mine had to stop taking it due to an allergic reaction. Always better to be safe and keep a close eye on symptoms.
Be careful with the diarrhea. I had a friend who ended up with C. diff and it was a nightmare. Make sure to stay hydrated and if it gets really bad, go to the ER.
I just had my first injection and it was actually not as bad as I thought. The nurse said the side effects are usually mild, so fingers crossed! Thanks, everyone, for the support. Time to rest and recover.
I wish I had known about the potential liver issues before. My friend got really sick and had to be hospitalized. Scary stuff, so definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms.
Just finished my course of Zithromax and I'm glad I didn't have any serious side effects. Felt a bit tired and had some diarrhea, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to stay hydrated and take it easy.
