Has anyone tried Colestid 5gm Packets 90 for treating high cholesterol? It seems interesting as it binds to bile acids in your gut, which prevents reabsorption. I'm curious to hear about your experiences, if you've noticed any changes in your cholesterol levels, and what the side effects are like. I'm wondering if the potential benefits outweigh the risks of side effects. I'm considering it as an alternative to statins, which gave me muscle cramps and different issues. My doctor recommended it, but I wanted to get some real-world feedback before starting.

How long does it take to see results? Also, I've heard that it can cause some GI issues. How bad were they, and did they go away with time?

Also, has anyone experienced any of the serious side effects listed, like allergic reactions or unexplained bruising? I want to be prepared and know what to look out for.

I'm open to any insights, tips, or just general advice on managing high cholesterol with Colestid. Let's discuss!

Just a heads up, it can cause constipation, but if you eat enough fiber and drink enough water, it should mitigate most issues. Also, if you're taking any other medications, be aware that it can interfere with absorption.

I've been on Colestid for about 6 months now, and it's been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. My doctor said it dropped by 32% since starting it.

I've noticed that taking Colestid with food helps a lot with the stomach issues. It's been a lifesaver for me.

I've had no serious side effects, just some occasional constipation. I take a fiber supplement with it, and that helps a lot. Plus, it's always important to drink plenty of water.

I tried Colestid but switched to another medication because of the taste. I'm not sure if anyone else has dealt with this, but it's pretty gross.

I've been taking Colestid for a year now, and it's been fantastic. My cholesterol levels are way down, and I've had minimal side effects. Just some occasional stomach cramps, but nothing too bad. It's worth it for the results I've seen. Also, I recommend taking it with a full glass of water, it really helps!

I’ve heard people talking about it but I’ve never needed to take it. How long does it take for your body to adjust to feel any changes in cholesterol?

I've been on Colestid for a while and it has significantly helped lower my cholesterol levels. I do experience some gastronomical issues, but they're manageable. Plus, it's a great alternative to statins if you're dealing with muscle cramps from them.
