Atropine Eye Drops: My Experience and Tips for Managing Side Effects
I just got prescribed Atropine Sulf 1% Oph Soln 15ml for an eye exam. The doctor said it would dilate my pupils and relax my focusing muscle, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects listed, especially the blurred vision and sensitivity to light. I've used Atropine for an eye inflammation issue and it helped a lot. The side effects were manageable and I found that keeping my eyes closed as much as possible helped with the sensitivity to light. I suggest using artificial tears to keep your eyes lubricated, too
I've had a bad reaction to Atropine. I got severe headaches and nausea. Severe side effects are rare, but there are documented cases. Make sure you have a plan to contact your doctor if needed.
I never really found the side effects to be that bad. Some eye irritation, but it was worth it.
I used Atropine eye drops for an eye exam and found the side effects to be quite mild. I experienced some blurred vision and light sensitivity, but nothing too severe. I just wore sunglasses indoors and took it easy for a couple of days. It was worth it for the accurate exam results.
