I was prescribed Cefadroxil 1gm Tablets for a urinary tract infection, and while they did the job, I experienced some unpleasant side effects. I'm sharing my experience to help others who might be taking this medication. I had severe diarrhea and stomach cramps about a week into my dosage. It was so bad that I didn't even want to eat. My doctor told me this could be a sign of a CDAD, and it was really scary. I've also read some reports of other side effects, like liver problems, so I wanted to ask if anyone else has had any similar experiences? Has anyone here had any severe allergic reactions or other serious side effects? It's really important to be aware of these things, especially since the medication is so widely used.

I had Cefadroxil for a skin infection a while back. I felt awful and really bloated, but I didn't get diarrhea. Some other people had really bad diarrhea, so I think I lucked out there, but it was still a bad experience. I think it's important to finish the course of antibiotics, even if you feel better earlier on.

This is a good reminder to be aware of side effects but people really should not be scared to take antibiotics. The advice to finish the course of medication is spot on, if you don't finish it and your body kills off most of the pathogen you might get a recurrence, and it could become resistant too.

I've had no issues with antibiotics, but I had a bad reaction to a Sulfa drug (Bactrim) that I thought I should mention. It gave a rash and other symptoms that were very similar to what you're supposed to look out for with antibiotics. It's important not to just brush off symptoms and not seek treatment.

This is the first time I've heard of Cefadroxil, and now I'm scared to take it. I'm not sure why my doctor prescribed it to me and didn't tell me about any side effects. I looked it up myself but I'm pretty sure she would have mentioned if it affected the liver.

Cefadroxil is an antibiotic that can cause diarrhea, but it is not the antibiotic that is most commonly associated with a CDAD. I've had a CDAD before and it felt like the worst stomach bug I've ever had, but I'm fortunate to have recovered.

I had a horrible rash and itching with Cefadroxil. It looked like I had the chickenpox and it was so uncomfortable. I had to stop taking it, but my doctor switched me to something else and I was fine.
