I recently started taking Cefixime 200mg/5ml Susp 50ml for a urinary tract infection. The doctor prescribed a 10-day course, and I'm curious about other people's experiences with this medication. I've heard that diarrhea is a common side effect, but I'm also worried about the more serious side effects like allergic reactions or kidney problems. Has anyone else had issues with these? Also, what should I do if I start feeling better before the course is over? Can I stop early, or do I need to finish the entire prescription?

Make sure you finish the full course, even if you feel better. Stopping early can lead to antibiotic resistance and can cause the infection to come back.

I was worried about the side effects too. My doctor assured me that diarrhea is common, but if it's really bad or has blood in it, you should call them right away. I didn't have any issues with it, though.

Definitely finish the course. I took it for a UTI and had mild diarrhea and a headache towards the end. It was gross, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

I had this for strep throat and it worked great but left me feeling like I had the flu for a week. I'd rather have strep throat than feel that way again.

I stopped taking my antibiotics early once and ended up back at the doctor a week later with the same infection. It was miserable. Don't do it, folks.

I had a really bad experience with Cefixime. I got a terrible rash all over my body and had to go to the ER. Turned out it was an allergic reaction. If you notice anything like that, get help immediately.

My kid had an ear infection and was prescribed this. The doctor said it's important to shake the bottle well before giving it to her. It caused some mild stomach upset, but nothing too bad. Make sure to read the label carefully and follow all the instructions.

I had to take this for bronchitis. The taste was awful, but I guess you can mix it with juice or something to make it more bearable.

I had never heard of Cefixime until my doctor prescribed it for a UTI. I had no idea what to expect. It was fine, but the taste was awful.
