I was prescribed Cefixime 200mg/5ml Susp 75ml for a throat infection, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'm particularly worried about the serious side effects like liver and kidney problems. How common are these? What should I do if I experience any of these symptoms? Also, I've heard that diarrhea is a common side effect. Should I be worried about this, or is it usually mild? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had some loose stools but nothing too dramatic. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, call your doctor. But honestly, the worst part was the taste—the medicine is pretty nasty!

I had a really bad reaction to Cefixime. I got hives and had trouble breathing. Thank goodness I was at home and could call an ambulance right away. If you start feeling weird, don't wait it out—get help.

Don't forget, you can report side effects to the FDA. The more data they have, the better they can help future patients.

If you do experience side effects, talk to your doctor. Some of them can be managed, but it's important to communicate openly with your healthcare provider. You shouldn't have to suffer through unpleasant symptoms.

Seizures? Really? That sounds scary. I'm gonna stick to my ibuprofen. Who knew antibiotics could be so dangerous?

I get so paranoid taking antibiotics. Every little ache or pain, I think it's a side effect. It's probably just my anxiety or stress, but it's still scary. I try to relax as much as possible.

Serious side effects are rare, but they can happen. It's always better to be safe. If you notice anything alarming, like yellow skin, dark urine, or severe stomach pain, get to the ER. It's better to be cautious, especially with liver and kidney issues. You're taking antibiotics, after all, so you have a bacterial infection. If your symptoms persist, you should consult with your doctor as soon as possible.

Make sure you finish the entire prescription, even if you feel better. Stopping early can lead to antibiotic resistance.

I think diarrhea is pretty common with antibiotics, but it's usually not too bad. Just drink plenty of water, and if it gets worse or you see blood, call your doctor right away.

I took Cefixime for a UTI and didn't have any serious side effects. The worst was some mild stomach upset. Just make sure to take it with food and stay hydrated. But definitely keep an eye out for those serious side effects, especially any signs of an allergic reaction.
